Jonathan Adjemian R.Ac, PhD
Jonathan is a Registered Acupuncturist and a graduate of the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has completed additional training in Balance System Acupuncture and Korean acupuncture, and is proficient in the use of cupping, gua sha, tuina massage, and moxa or heat therapy. In keeping with classical approaches, he views acupuncture as rooted in the connection between patient and practitioner, and aims to tailor each treatment to the patient’s needs, preferences, and comfort levels.
A lifelong student, Jonathan was drawn to acupuncture both for its clinical effectiveness and its rich historical and theoretical bases, and loves to mine classical sources for approaches with contemporary relevance. Whether dealing will musculoskeletal pain and injury, internal medicine conditions, psycho-emotional complexities, or chronic illness, Chinese Medicine offers a unique lens that is powerful in its own right, and complements other modalities of treatment.
Jonathan also holds a PhD in Social and Political Thought from York University, and has worked as a musician and an academic editor and translator. He is a long-time qigong practioner and now teacher, and these movement and meditation practices were his initial introduction to Chinese Medicine. Like qigong, Jonathan views acupuncture through the “Three Treasures” — the physical, energetic, and mental/spiritual aspects of the body, which function as an interconnected whole. By helping to remove blockages, restore balance, and encourage smooth movement on each of these levels, acupuncture can provide temporary relief and be a catalyst for lasting change.
When not working, Jonathan is often wandering Toronto’s parklands and ravines, playing elaborate games with his three-year old, or playing music alone or with friends.

Madhvi is a Sutherland-Chan graduate who also holds an Hon Bsc. From U of Toronto, is a certified yoga instructor and utilizes acupuncture, cupping and myofascial therapies in her practice. She believes that combining knowledge from a scientific model with an integrative, complementary framework allows us to truly speak to our health journey.
This is her approach to treatment:
Our bodies move and change constantly; they change as our seasons change, they change daily as we dance between the stressors and joys of life. These transitions sometimes can challenge our innate adaptive abilities, especially when life becomes hectic and there's hardly space for rest. When we work together, you and I create the space necessary for your body, nervous system and breath to align with ease and grace. Within this foundation of safety and trust, your body awareness improves and your mind is able to tap into a truth that guides you into the next stages of your wellbeing. I refer to this moment of pause as ‘a liminal space’ - an in-between phase of the old and new, past and present, present and future - where all possibilities exist because you have given your adaptive multi-system (autonomic nervous system) a moment to catch up with and align to your daily and often busy lifestyle. I believe in a practice that is customized to meet you where you are in any given day, acknowledging your health is physical, mental, emotional and spiritual (an integrated system). I believe in supporting your circle of care and walking alongside your journey towards the path you envision for yourself. I have worked in hospital and clinical settings with palliative care, concussion care and post surgical recovery as well as in private practice for pre/postnatal support, autoimmune conditions and general somatic support. I am currently doing some personal extended research around women's health, specifically perimenopause and menopause. I am grateful and excited to create within this liminal space with you.
Madhvi has a passion for learning and is fascinated by human consciousness and neuroscience as well as where true human potential lies when spirit and matter connect. She feels deeply for community and is forever seeking ways to contribute to sustainable community development within a healthcare framework led by a justice and equity lens. Coffee, hiking in nature and adventuring with her 5 year old and husband bring her joy.
Amanda graduated with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2016. Since graduating, she has worked with a variety of patients in different healthcare settings including emergency department, orthopedic and general surgery, intensive care unit, and palliative care. Of these experiences, she feels the most passionate about the role of physiotherapy in preventing disease and managing chronic pain.
Her focus is on providing patient-centered care, which includes a balance of education, exercise, hands-on therapy, acupuncture, and self-management programs. Her goal as a Physiotherapist is to help patients be able to do activities that are meaningful to them, and to maintain their best level of function. She has additional training in pelvic health and integrates this knowledge in caring for patients living with incontinence, prolapse, and pelvic pain across the lifespan.
She teaches in the Physiotherapy program at McMaster University as an assistant clinical professor (adjunct) and as lecturer (status only) in the Physical Therapy program at the University of Toronto. She has a research interest in the effects of long COVID and is a current presenter in the Long COVID education rounds.
She studied kinesiology at York University where she played varsity soccer during her1st year. She continued to work with elite soccer players on and off the pitch throughout her undergraduate training at the provincial and semi-professional levels. She had the privilege of working as a Physiotherapist at the Canada Summer Games in 2017, and continues to enjoy helping young athletes reach their goals at the clinic.
She stays active herself at the gym and through a variety of recreational sports, yoga, dance, gardening, hiking, biking and skiing. During our short warm season, you can find her paddle boarding along Kew-Balmy Beach!
