Psychotherapy Defined: The assessment and treatment of cognitive, emotional or behavioural challenges through psycho-therapeutic interventions; specifically, individual, parent, family or group therapy.
The speciality of our Registered Psychotherapist, Sarah Glover, is children and youth (and their families) who are struggling with their Emotion Regulation. This means the kids who are showing distress, dysregulation and behavioural challenges related to managing anxiety, worry, sadness and frustration.
She provides individual, family and parent therapy for children and youth (aged 7-18) and their parents and family members. She has knowledge and expertise in the area of Learning Disabilities, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD (inattentive and hyperactive sub-types), Autism Spectrum Disorders and Giftedness.
Sarah is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Informed Practice, Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving and the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). She is undergoing an intensive training in April in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
